Essex suspends breakfast duo

The managing director of Essex FM has broadcast an announcement stating that breakfast presenters Martin Day and Su Harrison have been suspended due to an incident on Friday's programme.
Comments apparently involving Boy Scouts were made which led to the suspension of the pair.

Martin Day gained national fame in the BBC series of Lakesiders, he is well known for witty remarks on air.
United Radio consultant Paul Chantler, who is a former programme controller of Essex FM, appeared on ITV's [link=http://www.itvlocal.com/anglia/news/?void=251130]Anglia Tonight[/link] programme, and was asked if this event compares to the recent incident with Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross: "I think there's a big contrast between what Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross said on a national radio station using four letter words in the context of a rather childish prank phone-call in a pre-recorded situation and whatever was said on Essex FM."
It is still unclear what was said on-air during Friday's programme, if anything at all, to warrant the suspension of the two presenters. A hoax by the station has not been ruled out by colleagues close to the situation.
RadioToday.co.uk is still awaiting an official statement from Global Radio, owners of Essex FM.
