An early morning fire at national talkSPORT forced the radio talk station off air for 90 minutes during the breakfast show today.
No back-up audio triggered which meant dead air was found on all frequencies between 7:30am and 9am, until the station resumed broadcasting with the help of studio facilities at LBC on Bramley Road, London.
A talkSPORT spokesperson told RadioToday.co.uk: "a small fire on the programming floor meant the studio had to be evacuated before the studio could 'log off' meaning no back-up audio kicked in."
talkSPORT is now broadcasting from Global Radio's LBC, thanks to a reciprocal agreement between the two stations should one be forced out of their building. They hope to be back home at 18 Hatfields, London this afternoon.
