Xfm’s Rock School is back

Xfm Manchester is adding the fourth R to the curriculum with the return of the Rock School, giving a school band the chance to win a rock-star experience.

The wining band will get £1,000 to spend on music equipment for their school at Dawsons Music, A day's recording at the Xfm Manchester studios, A rock'n'roll makeover courtesy of Bench and A professional photoshoot with rock photographer Shirlaine Forrest.

Xfm says some of the biggest and best bands in the world met in the school playground including U2, Ash, Supergrass and The Jam, proving that starting early can really pay off.

Xfm Manchester presenter, Clint Boon, who made his mark on the Manchester indie rock scene with his band The Inspiral Carpets, says “This is something that I have been really excited about after the success of last year. I can’t wait to see what secret prodigies are hidden out there in schools all over the North West.”

Bands have until midnight on Wednesday 26 November to email in their mp3.
