Hucknall honoured by GMG Radio

Simply Red star Mick Hucknall was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for services to music at the annual GMG Radio staff ball at the weekend.
Hucknall headlined a star studded staff event in Manchester, which included performances by James Morrison, Sharleen Spiteri, Lamar, Scouting For Girls and The Script.

Mick's award was presented to him by GMG Radio’s group head of Music, Terry Underhill. Over 700 staff and guests from GMG’s Smooth, Real, Century and Rock Radio stations across the country were in attendance, who also witnessed a special send-off video to CEO John Myers who is stepping down from his position in April.
John said; “Mick Hucknall is an extraordinary musical talent he has been responsible for writing some of the most recognisable songs in the world. Along with this he is a fantastic ambassador for British music to lovers of music around the world. He is the consummate professional a gentleman and we are delighted to have been able to honour his talent and his hard work in this way.”
