New CD album for Big Top 40

The commercial radio chart, Big Top 40, is releasing its first compilation CD with the help of owner Global Radio and Universal Music TV.

The double CD contains six months of hits, dating back to when the chart show launched in June last year.

There's a national television campaign to promote the album, as well as the obligatory radio adverts on subscriber stations such as Heart, Galaxy, Big City and Real.

Richard Park, Director of Broadcasting, Global Radio, said: “The Big Top 40 is the biggest chart in the UK, listened to by 2.7 million people and going out to over 141 stations. Following the massive success of the show, we’re pleased to be able to release our first CD to celebrate our achievement!”

Presented by Rich Clarke and Kat Shoob, Big Top 40 replaced Hit 40 UK, and uses iTunes to compile a near-real-time chart.
