Adam Catterall leaving Rock FM

Adam Catterall, the breakfast presenter at Preston’s Rock FM is leaving the station after five years.

The multi-award winning show will finish in May when Adam’s contract ends with the station, although he hasn’t got a new job to go to.

Speaking to Radio Today, Adam said: “After 3 and a half years on the Breakfast show I’ve decided not to renew my contract as I feel it’s now time to pursue other avenues. I’ve had a fantastic time, winning several awards and growing audience to new record levels but I feel that my personal ambition is greater than what can be realised in my current role.”

In 18 months, Adam made the transition from club DJ in Leeds to breakfast presenter, starting off on overnights, moving to evenings and finally being signed for the breakfast show.

Awards include Arqiva’s Commercial Radio Presenter of the Year 2007, Best Breakfast Personality in the European Radio Awards, North West Presenter of the Year in the 2008 BRA’s, Best Music Personality Show in the New York Festival and a Sony nomination in 2008 for Music Radio Personality of the Year.
