Parsons to lose Radio 2 show

New schedule changes at BBC Radio 2 means Lynn Parsons' Sunday morning show is being replaced by an extended Good Morning Sunday.

Other changes include the Comedy Hour moving from Thursday to Saturday nights and a documentary Monday to Wednesday at 10pm.

As previously [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.5712]reported[/link], Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie's show will be cut to three nights per week.

Big Band Special will be extended from 30 minutes to one hour but will be moved an hour later to 11pm. Nigel Ogden's The Organist Entertains will move from Tuesdays to Thursdays in a new 10pm slot.

Bob Shennan, Controller, Radio 2 and 6 Music, says: "These changes demonstrate our continuing efforts to evolve the schedule and ensure that Radio 2 remains distinctive, focusing on our commitment to documentary, comedy and live music programming."

Lynn Parsons will be kept on at the station for cover work, the Guardian [link=http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2010/mar/11/radio-2-schedule]reports[/link].
