Real partners with Eisteddfod

Real Radio in Wales has signed a deal to become the Official Commercial Radio Partner for National Eisteddfod 2010 festival.

The arts and music event attracts over 160,000 visitors every year at The Works, Ebbw Vale from 31 July to 7 August.

The GMG station has been involved with National Eisteddfod in previous years though this is the first as official commercial radio partners. Real will provide its listeners across Wales with regular, in-depth updates on events, a special and a National Eisteddfod 2010 micro website .

The Real Patrol will also be out in the crowds giving away goodies to festival goers.

Tony Dowling, Station Director at Real Radio said; “This is a wonderful event for us to be associated with. The Eisteddfod is not only the ultimate expression of Welsh tradition but a brilliant occasion. It’s great to be at Ebbw Vale for the first time in over half a century and we think that Real Radio, the biggest commercial radio station in Wales, is the perfect official commercial radio partner.”

National Eisteddfod Chief Executive, Elfed Roberts, added: “We are delighted to be working with Real Radio this year. The station’s reach across the whole of South and West Wales makes them a perfect partner for promoting the National Eisteddfod.

“The preparations for this year’s festival is going well, and our partnership with Real Radio will help us to reach families and visitors across the region, to encourage them to attend a festival which has something for everyone – whatever their age.”
