Former Capital Radio and XFM presenter Gary Crowley is joining digital station Amazing Radio to present a new Sunday afternoon show.
The first voice on XFM when it launched in 1997, these days Gary does regular shows for BBC London 94.9 and cover for 6 Music.
He said: “I’m extremely excited to be on the air within such an innovative station as Amazing Radio.”
Also joining the station, which plays music from unsigned bands, are Bella Union record label boss Simon Raymonde and Manchester-based community radio presenter Shell Zenner who does new music shows for Bolton FM and Salford City Radio.
Simon has started in the Monday 7-9pm slot, while Shell will start a Friday afternoon show from the end of the month.
Amazing Radio Programme Director Matt Jamison told RadioToday.co.uk: “This is such an exciting time for Amazing Radio. With our time-shifted feeds to the United States (launched in February) generating huge interest across the pond and our UK station going from strength to strength, Gary, Simon and Shell serve to further enhance our worldwide standalone dedication to new and emerging music.”
Amazing Radio, which broadcasts across the UK on the D1 digital radio multiplex, was set up in 2009 and plays nothing but new and emerging music. Songs are sourced from sister website amazingtunes.com, where artists get 100% of download revenues.
