Russell Brand made a return to radio this week when he hosted a live three-hour show on Global Radio’s Xfm.
He was reunited with Noel Gallagher and, from the original Russell Brand Show, former co host Matt Morgan and poet Mr Gee. Back together in a studio for the first time in seven years, the broadcasting team were joined by special guests including Noel Fielding and David Icke, as they took to the airwaves for a special show to promote a week of Teenage Cancer Trust gigs – curated by Noel Gallagher – which take place this week at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
During the show, they talked about Noel Gallagher’s sons ridiculing Russell for his “ladies’ shoes”, the price of Shetland ponies and Russell’s arrival at his wedding on an elephant, plus they found out why David Icke was encouraging them to leave wheelie bins in the street and what the police did after Russell thew a paparazzi’s phone through a window…
After the show, Russell said: “I think it went really, really well. I think it’s good because apparently all over Britain, people are pushing wheelie bins into the street at the behest of David Icke and we know we can get horses at a perfectly reasonable price. I think it was a lovely experience.”
