Trevor White exits Bauer’s Planet Rock

Bauer Media has made a number of programming appointments at Planet Rock, resulting in the departure of Programme Director Trevor White.

Trevor has been running the programmes at the digital station for the last six years under previous owner Malcolm Bluemel.

planetrockbauerCurrent Senior Producer Liz Barnes will take over as Programme Manager, which will see her run the day to day scheduling for the station with a remit to explore new programming ideas.

Steve Parkinson, Managing Director at Bauer Radio said: “We’d like to put on record our thanks to Trevor for all his hard work in turning Planet Rock into the successful digital station it is today.”

In other changes, Ric Blaxill is to become Music and Content Director, whilst Alex Baker is promoted to Head of Commercial Programming for Planet Rock and Kerrang! Radio.

Blaxill will be responsible for all programming for Planet Rock alongside his other responsibilities as the label entry point for Bauer Media UK for major artist projects and event appearances. He will also continue to lead programming strategy for Bauer’s fellow digital radio station heat radio.

Alex Baker has worked at Kerrang! Radio for over seven years as a presenter, producer and, for the past three years, as Commercial Programming Manager for Kerrang! and Q Radio.

Steve Taylor, Creative Commercial Director at Bauer Media, commented “Alex is one of the radio industry’s rising stars and the pro-active, flexible approach and enthusiasm he already brings to Kerrang! and Q Radio will be invaluable to Planet Rock.“

In addition to the new appointments, Planet Rock‘s production team and broadcast studios have moved to Bauer’s central London radio HQ yesterday.
