Jon Godel is to lead the expansion at the Broadcast Journalism Training Council.
In recent times the body has seen expansion as more universities and colleges seek the BJTC industry-backed accreditation badge that ensures students qualify ready to work in journalism. There are now more than 60 BJTC courses on offer to those seeking accredited training.
Jon Godel said: “The BJTC provides a crucial link between industry and trainers. Our media partners play a key role and are highly active in ensuring the best training is being delivered. This has never been more important to students who want a real chance of getting a job at the end of their course.”
Current BJTC Secretary Martyn Hurd added: “Having worked with Jon Godel for many years, I know the BJTC has made an excellent decision and chosen the right person to take the organisation to new heights.”
