Heart starts £2.5m advertising campaign

Olly Murs is to star in Heart’s new advertising campaign, which features the heart hand gesture along with the regular strapline, Give it some Heart.
Ads will run on television, starting during X Factor on Saturday, and in cinemas. The Heart Angels will be out in all areas promoting the brand too as part of the £2.5m campaign.

The 30-second advert shows people around the country making one half of the ‘heart hands’ gesture, reaching a hand out to others to complete the heart. Just like the ladies in the swimming pool above.

The ad opens with a man and woman travelling in opposite directions on escalators. As they are about to pass each other, both reach out a hand to make the ‘heart hands’. The opening bars of Olly Murs’ Heart Skips a Beat kick in. The pace picks up as ‘heart hands’ get shared in different settings, with the last scene at an Olly Murs gig where fans pass the heart to each other. The ad ends with a woman reaching out to Olly on stage. As he completes the ‘heart hands’, he bursts into the chorus of Heart Skips a Beat.

If you come back to this page tomorrow, we’ll include it so you can see it before it goes on the tellybox.

Giles Pearman, group director of marketing at Global, said: “Heart is the UK’s biggest commercial radio brand with 7.5 million loyal listeners every week. This new TV campaign lives up to the station’s promise to “Give it some Heart” in a fun and creative way, showing the positive feeling Heart listeners experience. This is brought to life through social and experiential activity, giving all our listeners a chance to really engage with the campaign.”
