Hawksbee and Jacobs release bloopers book

talkSPORT afternoon show presenters Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs have released a book of highlights of one of the station’s most popular features of the week.

Clips of the Week focusses on the bits of the talkSPORT output that didn’t go quite to plan. The feature’s been going for 13 years and in the process has collected nearly 4,000 clips.

The book, published by Simon & Schuster, contains some of the best ones in written form.

They include Alan Brazil’s occasional on-air lapses, as when he introduced racing reporter Rupert Bell: “Here’s talkSPORT’s Rupert Bear…”. There’s also the moment when a Scottish caller was campaigning for Hearts’ goalkeeper Antti Niemi to play for Scotland. The presenter replied that he was ineligible as he was Finnish, only to be told: “He’s no’ finish, he only 28!”

Listen to some of the best clips below.
