More Radio’s Chris Birks joins HiFM in Oman

Former More Radio Programme Controller Chris Birks has been appointed as Deputy Content Controller and Head of Music at Hi FM, Oman.

Chris was responsible for leading the More Radio rebrand last year and has worked in the UK for Heart, The Hits, Trent FM and spent four years in the United Arab Emirates too.

He told RadioToday: “I’ve loved my time in Sussex working for More Radio and I wish that amazing bunch continued success. I’ve known Robin for almost ten years as he coached me in the early days of my career and when the call came it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. We’re going to have lots of fun.”

In addition, Clare Elise is joining the station as Digital Content Editor. She has previous experience in the Middle East working for ARN’s Dubai 92.

Hi FM’s Content Controller Robin Banks told RadioToday: “We’ve made amazing strides at Hi FM in the last 8 months I’ve been here and I’m delighted we get to add Chris and Clare to our bunch of screwballs over here.”

Chris and Clare travel out to the sun in July to join the station.
