talkSPORT 2 is broadcasting live ball-by-ball coverage of The Open this year, starting next week.
Richard Kaufman will present live coverage from Carnoustie starting on Tuesday July 17, bringing all the latest news, live commentary and interviews from the players at the 147th Open.
Former European and PGA Tour players Paul Eales, Gordon Brand Jnr, Carl Paulson and Raymond Burns will join Matt Adams, Ron Jones, Sue Thearle and Alison Walker in the commentary box and out on the Scottish course.
The live coverage will also sit alongside regular updates on the main talkSPORT station starting on July 15, with talkSPORT’s golf correspondent Bob Bubka, Rupert Bell and talkSPORT regular Russell Hargreaves.
It is the first time since 2007 that the station has had the rights for the tournament.
Liam Fisher, National Radio controller at talkSPORT, said: “talkSPORT has holed a ten footer to land rights to golf’s oldest major, with the world’s greatest golfers on display. After talkSPORT’s around the clock coverage of the FIFA World Cup in Russia, what better way to embrace the height of summer than to tune in for the season’s biggest major with Rory, Tiger and Bubba.”
Full live commentary will start from 7.00am on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 July and 9.00am on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 until the close of play.
