Classic FM presenter Aled Jones is kicking off Global’s Make Some Noise fundraising this year by taking on a wing walk challenge in the skies above Britain.
Aled’s career started over 30 years ago with the release of Walking in the Air, but the song will take on a new meaning when he takes off for his flight in September – and the more money raised, the higher, faster and steeper the pilot will fly.
“I can be a nervous flyer at the best of times – and that’s when I’m sitting inside the plane!,” Aled said.
“To fly at up to 130mph standing on top of the plane is going to be a very different experience, but I’m up for the challenge and I want to be put through my paces. It’s all in aid of a fantastic charity, Global’s Make Some Noise. I’ve seen first-hand the difference they make helping disadvantaged young people, so the challenge will be worth it.”
Now in its fifth year, Global has united all its radio brands – Classic FM, Heart, Capital, Smooth, LBC, Radio X, Capital XTRA and Gold – to raise money for disadvantaged youngsters across the UK living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.
