Ahead of Greg James taking over the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Nick Grimshaw has thanked his breakfast show listeners for listening over the last six years.
Nick hosted his last show today by playing some of the biggest songs he’s featured during his time on the programme, along with one final nixtape.
Nick says: “I’ve had the time of my life doing the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and I’m proud to have been part of such an iconic show. Thanks to everyone that has listened and I can’t wait to set my alarm a little later and be back with you all at 4pm from September 3rd.”
He took over from Chris Moyles in 2012 after hosting the late show on Radio 1. Nick first joined the station in 2005 to work on youth programmes, and was given weekend breakfast in 2009. Before starting the breakfast show he was doing regular television work whilst covering Scott Mills’ show.

I’d also like to thank him for getting up early for the country, enjoy your lie in.”
