Chris Stark’s best moments whilst working at BBC Radio 1

Chris Stark recently announced his move to Capital FM, after having worked on the Scott Mills show on BBC Radio 1 since 2012.

He initially made sporadic appearances on the programme, but due to his popularity with listeners, he quickly became a regular.

Stark has joined Capital Breakfast alongside Roman Kemp, Sonny Jay, and Sian Welby. It’s time to look back on his best bits when working alongside Mills.

That Mila Kunis Interview

Stark shot to fame when he conducted an interview with Hollywood star, Mila Kunis.

According to Mills, the radio presenter sent Stark to meet the actor when she was promoting Oz the Great and Powerful. It was clear that Stark was completely unprepared. However, he ended up sparking a unique conversation that endeared him to Kunis and millions of people around the world when the video went viral.

Radio 1 posted the interview on YouTube and it attracted over ten million viewers within its first week. That led Stark’s fame to skyrocket, and he was subsequently interviewed by news shows such as Access Hollywood and CNN’s Starting Point.

Innuendo Bingo

Throughout Stark’s time at Radio 1, he took part in a wide range of activities and games with guests. One highlight was Innuendo Bingo, a hilarious game in which he and another contestant tried not to laugh while holding mouthfuls of water.

Mills would then play sound bites of funny things people had said. The result was that both contestants got extremely wet.

There’s no doubt that Innuendo Bingo’s popularity grew thanks to the love of the ball draw pastime across the UK. Many people are familiar with bingo and its rules now, especially since it blew up online.

Nowadays, the bingo industry is bigger than ever, and sites often merge with online casinos. Among casino promotions, there are also offers for bingo players. For example, the welcome bonus for the On the House bingo room gives players access to six free tickets.

Innuendo Bingo’s rules may be slightly different to those of online bingo, but the randomness factor is there in both games.

24 Years at the Tap End

One of the greatest segments of Stark’s time on Radio One was when he read extracts from his autobiography, 24 Years at the Tap End. This was a book in which he wrote many anecdotes from his life, amid the realisation that he’d been lying at the wrong end of the bath his whole life.

24 Years at the Tap End had its own catchy jingle and was met with widespread approval from fans. It ran for two series and ended in 2013, but there was also a one-off special that aired in 2014 as part of a comedy night.

Stark has gathered a vast amount of experience on Radio One and some of his moments were truly amazing. He will be a credit to Capital FM and listeners are already excited about what he will bring to the table.
