Jayne Middlemiss to host weekday afternoons at Virgin Radio UK

Virgin Radio’s new autumn schedule includes Jayne Middlemiss joining the station full-time to host the weekday afternoon show.

Jayne was on Virgin Radio’s weekend breakfast but starts her new show on Monday 24th October, replacing Tim Cocker.

The former BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music presenter has also hosted Top of the Pops and won Celebrity Masterchef and Celebrity Love Island.

Jayne comments: “I am thrilled to be joining the Virgin Radio daytime family. To work alongside people I have listened to and admired for years is an honour and a joy.

“Music and talking are two things I love. To work at such a vibrant creative station doing those things is a dream come true. It feels like an exciting new chapter and I’m finally coming home. I cannot wait.”

Virgin Radio UK Content Director Mike Cass said: “We’re thrilled to have Jayne moving to weekdays, she’s a natural talent and is wonderfully engaging.

“She’s the perfect addition to the workday and with Bam in his new home of evenings, this is a great team for Autumn 2022.”

Current afternoon presenter Tim Cocker, due to his other work commitments, is moving to weekends on Virgin Radio UK and weekdays on Virgin Radio Anthems.
