Andrew Collins is leaving Global after seven years of working at Classic FM hosting Saturday Night at the Movies.
The former BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music presenter tweeted today saying “After 7 years of presenting Saturday Night at the Movies on Classic FM and sharing the best movie music with you, tomorrow’s show will be my last one.
“Thank you to all our listeners who’ve helped to make the show such a joy to work on.”
Andrew’s background is in writing, having started his media career as a music journalist for NME in the mid-90s. He’s since written sitcoms, films, worked on script editing, and done stand-up comedy.
In reaction, a Global spokesperson told RadioToday: “Andrew Collins will host his last programme on Classic FM tomorrow. We thank him for presenting Saturday Night at the Movies for the past seven years and we wish him all the best for the future.”
No news yet on Andrew’s replacement.
