SISSIES, the new LGBTQ+ events brand founded by Gaydio and Riverside Radio presenter Nick McCluskey, has announced its headline summer event, SISSIES By The Pool.
This year, SISSIES has partnered with AEG Presents for the pool party, which will be a day festival.
The event was unveiled “SISSIES In The House sponsored by Just Eat”, the official launch party, which was held at The Little Violet Door in London’s Soho. Kiss FM’s Jordan Lee, Hits Radio’s James Barr and Riverside Radio founder/Breakfast presenter, Jason Rosam were among the guests who attended.
Nick McCluskey said: “Founded with reclaiming a term once used to drive hate, we created ‘SISSIES’ to reimagine traditional, festival-scale events, as truly welcoming and personal experiences, while also creating genuinely safe spaces for queer people across the UK.
“Through our events, we aim to support both individuality and community as sources of pride, no matter who you are or who you love.
“This year we’ll be donating a portion of our profits to support our charity partner, Stonewall Housing, who do incredible work for those experiencing homelessness within our community.
“With the political landscape shifting almost daily when it comes to the rights and freedoms of LGBTQ+ people around the world, SISSIES arrives at one of the scariest times in recent years to be queer.
“It’s important to me to ensure that we do our part in creating new safe spaces and aid in the safety of our people while also having fun.”
