Scott Mills leaves BBC Radio 2 amid personal conduct allegation
Scott Mills has left the BBC and is no longer contracted following allegations about his personal conduct.
The corporation confirmed his departure in a brief statement, saying it does not comment on individual matters but that Scott is no longer working for the BBC.
He was presenting the Breakfast show up until last Tuesday and Gary Davies has been covering the show since then.
In an email to staff, Lorna Clarke, Director of Music said: “I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock.
“Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programmes on R1, 5Live, R2 and TV.
“I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity.”
Scott had been a prominent voice on BBC Radio 2 in recent years, joining the weekday schedule in 2022 to take over the afternoon slot from Steve Wright.
He later moved to breakfast, replacing Zoe Ball in January 2025, marking a major change to the station’s daytime line-up.
The BBC has not provided further details about the nature of the allegations or the circumstances surrounding his exit.
No immediate information has been given about who will cover his programmes or any longer term changes to the Radio 2 schedule.
Scott had previously built a long career with the BBC, including time on Radio 1 before his move to Radio 2.
