Absolute Radio has made a significant step forward with its online listening service, now providing a log-in option via third party apps.
It means the station can offer personalised online listening streams to registered users, without the need to visit the station’s own website each time to log in.
Head of Interactive Media Anthony Abbott presented the news at a Tech Con session at the Radio Festival, explaining Absolute Radio’s online and mobile advertising platform – InStream.
Anthony exclusively revealed that InStream will be enabled via the now playing screen within the new Radioplayer mobile app, the multi platform service which allows consumers to browse and stream all UK radio from one place.
Registered users receive fewer, more personally targeted ads and content along with six additional minutes of music per hour in place of what had previously been reserved air time for ads.
Meanwhile, advertisers can now run demographic and location-based ad targeting via the Radioplayer console as well.
