Leeds based Fever FM has had a request to change its key commitments approved by Ofcom following a public consultation.
They asked for a change that would allow the station to focus on spiritual and relevant music and religious and cultural speech programming during times of religious significance and cultural celebration. It also requested to provide original output for a minimum of 91 hours per week, which is a reduction from the current 15 hours per day.
Ofcom’s decision was that the changes would not narrow the range of programmes in Leeds available by way of independent radio services. They said that the Licensee had argued that the range of the programming available on the station will continue to be as varied as it is currently.
Ofcom agreed to the changes because it was satisfied in relation to three of the statutory criteria, and because there were no policy reasons to object to it.
Piccadilly Radio was a fantastic name for a radio station based in Manchester and Key 103was alright too but couldn’t they come up with a much better name for the new rebranded national station?
Hits Radio sounds so bland and samey(?) as many other pop music Stations out there.
MHR UK maybe or 1CityUnitedRadio perhaps.
No doubt it will be a great station but a bit more imagination in the naming would have gone down better.
