Neath & Port Talbot's community radio station Afan FM is starting a new tradition by offering the Mayor's Christmas Message.
Today (Christmas Eve) at 5pm, the station will broadcast the first ever Mayor’s Christmas Message to the residents of Neath Port Talbot.
The Mayor was invited to write and record a message for the residents of the area at the stations new studio complex on Aberavon Seafront as part of the stations drive to offer a local radio alternative in Neath Port Talbot as the area’s first and only dedicated local radio station.
“We’re delighted and honoured the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot was so widely accepting of our idea to bring his thoughts of the year past and his hopes for the new year to his residents through their new local radio station — it’s a great way for Afan FM to wind down its first year on air” said Station Manager Chris Griffiths
