Small-scale DAB licences have been awarded in Swansea, Barrow-in-Furness, and Portadown & Craigavon.
They are the latest areas to covered in Round 5 of the licensing process by Ofcom.
Barrow and Swansea had just one applicant each, whilst Portadown & Craigavon attracted two.
In Swansea, Ofcom said it was concerned over the ability of the winning bid to launch the service, as it included directors who were part of the previous bid which failed to launch the service, leading to its re-advertisement.
The regulator added that the bid also included directors who had previously successfully launched services elsewhere, adding a sufficient level of confidence in the applicant’s ability to establish the service within the 18-month period.
Out of the 25 applications in Round 6, 17 have now been awarded, with the rest expected this year.
