Hywel and Jamie start Rock FM breakfast

Bauer’s Lancashire station Rock FM has a new breakfast show as drive presenters Hywel and Jamie swap places in the schedule with morning man Graeme Smith.

The Rock FM Breakfast Adventure launched this morning, as part of programme changes that also see Tim Shaw join the weekend line-up.

A note was posted on the Rock FM website a few weeks ago, claiming that Graeme and Jamie had played ‘The Coin’ and Jamie picked doing the breakfast show instead of getting a tattoo of Robert De Niro on his page.

Rock FM Programme Director, Dean O’Brien commented: “These are really exciting times for us. Graeme looks forward to a more ‘civilised’ start by waking at 10am instead of 4am, as the lovely Jude prepares for her first baby. Hywel & Jamie are thrilled for their new ‘breakfast’ adventure and are revved up to wake up Lancashire. What began as a bit of a prank has turned out great for all parties and I’m sure for listeners too!”

Controversial former Kerrang, Virgin and BRMB presenter Tim Shaw returns to radio with Rock FM too. He’ll be doing weekend afternoons (Saturdays from 2pm and Sundays from 1pm).

Tim left Absolute Radio in 2009, previously he’d been fired from Kerrang‘s breakfast show for fixing a competition.
