Spencer Pryor, the founding Managing Director of Eklipse Sports Radio has resigned from the company just days before the station is due to relaunch.
He says he’s off to help launch a new national digital station instead.
DAB station Eklipse broadcasts from Scotland and is changing its name as RockSport Radio after a change in management last year.
Spencer told RadioToday: “I’d like to wish the new management team of Keira MacDougall and Christine Squirrell all the best for the rebrand to RockSport Radio and their official launch on Saturday.
“After I sold a majority shareholding to a consortium of local businessmen in August this year and the decision was taken to rebrand the station I knew I would be leaving at around this time. I have been approached to head up a consortium that’s planning a new national digital station and feel that I would have had a conflict of interest if I’d stayed at Eklipse.”
Rocksport Radio has its official launch at the Hamilton Academicals v Celtic televised match on Saturday. The station broadcasts a mix of Scottish Sports Talk and News on the Central Scotland multiplex covering Glasgow and Edinburgh.
