1Xtra hosts first music event

BBC digital-only station 1Xtra has announced details of their first flagship music event, 1Xtra Live which will see massive line-up of artists.

Acts confirmed to perform at the free gig at the Jaguar Hall at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry include Akon, Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown and Craig David.
The event will be simulcast live on 1Xtra and BBC Radio 1 from 7pm trhu midnight on Saturday 22 March. Information on how listeners can get tickets to 1Xtra Live will be announced by Trevor Nelson on the 1Xtra Breakfast Show on Monday March 3rd.
Trevor Nelson, 1Xtra's breakfast show host said: "We've got an unbelievable line-up for what is going to be an unbelievable show. The UK's been waiting for a black music event like 1Xtra Live."
Lorna Clarke, head of programmes at 1Xtra, said: “For the past five years 1Xtra has worked hard to support the full range of black music and now we are able to bring together some of the most popular contemporary UK and international artists for 1Xtra Live.
"It will be a fantastic event and a chance for listeners to experience 1Xtra at its biggest and best."
