96.4FM The Wave mid morning presenter Mark Powell has left the station after six years to present the breakfast show on sister station Valleys Radio.
Prior to joining 96.4FM The Wave, Mark had numerous presenting jobs around the UK including stints at Galaxy and Red Dragon in Wales and TFM in Teeside.
On joining Valleys Radio, Mark said: “To be given the opportunity to present a radio station’s breakfast show is the biggest honour that can be bestowed on a presenter. I’m a Valleys boy through-and-through; I was born just down the road from the Valleys studio. So I’m immensely proud to be the voice behind the mic who will wake the Valleys up.”
Of Mark’s appointment Steve Barnes, UTV Radio (GB) senior programmer, said: “Mark is a brilliant DJ and has proved from his time at 96.4FM The Wave that he’s a presenter on the top of his game. Mark is ready to step up to the challenge of presenting the breakfast show on Valleys Radio and I know he’s going to do great things for the station.”
He starts his new show today (20th October).
