How to win a Sony Radio Award

Community Radio stations are invited to a seminar entitled How to Win a Sony Radio Academy Award, to be held in Bristol on December 2nd.

“Community radio has well and truly got its feet ‘under the table’ of the radio industry but the results of the recent Sony Radio Academy Awards did not reflect the achievements of the Community radio sector” states Joanne Schofield of BCfm who is organising the event at the Mercure Holland Hotel in Bristol on December 2nd 2008 at 2pm.
Representatives from Community Radio and other interested organisations will get the opportunity to hear Tim Blackmore, Chairman of the Sony Radio Academy Awards, present on the Awards and respond to questions from the community radio sector.
After the seminar attendees will be able to network with other community radio colleagues, to share experiences.
The event is sponsored by broadcast software company ENCO. The Enco team, along with Tim Blackmore and representatives from the Community Media Association will be on hand following the presentation to answer questions on the Awards and Community Radio in general.
“There will be a great deal of radio expertise in the room on the day” continues Joanne “I would urge community stations to take advantage of these few valuable hours to learn more about the Sony Radio Academy Awards and also meet people that will be able to give you important industry hints and tips. We know that community budgets are tight and that is where ENCO have stepped in to sponsor this event and we would like to thank them for their support.”
The seminar will be free for pre-registered attendees and parking is available on the day at the hotel. For more information about the event and to reserve your place, call Joanne Schofield on 0560 1126659 or email: joanne@bcfm.org.uk but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
