The BBC’s Welsh language radio station has announced that Lowri Rhys Davies is to become its new Editor of General Programming.
She will be responsible for commissioning and overseeing both in-house and externally produced programmes on the station.
Lowri has been a producer at the station since 2003 and has previously acted up as Assistant Editor on a number of occasions since 2008.
Head of Welsh Language Programmes and Services, Sian Gwynedd said: “Lowri has years of experience producing a variety of radio programmes and of leading production teams. She has a good knowledge of Radio Cymru as a station and I’m confident she will lay strong foundations for the future of the station.”
Lowri Rhys Davies said: “Radio Cymru is personally very important to me – it’s the station I was brought up listening to, and I’ve had the privilege of working as a producer here for nearly a decade. I’m very much looking forward to leading the teams who work in Bangor and Cardiff through a period of change and to ensure Radio Cymru continues to deliver strong and creative programming that is relevant to our audience.”
