Global’s Make Some Noise Night raised £1,031,502 for charity on Tuesday night as Heart, Capital, Smooth, Classic FM, LBC, Radio X and Gold came together for a special event.
The evening was hosted by Global presenters including Heart’s Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, Ashley Roberts, JK and Kelly Brook, and Pandora Christie; Capital’s Roman Kemp and Marvin Humes; Classic FM’s Alexander Armstrong and Charlotte Hawkins; Classic FM and Smooth’s Myleene Klass; LBC’s Nick Ferrari and James O’Brien, The News Agents’ Jon Sopel, and Radio X’s Johnny Vaughan.
Musician Tom Grennan, singer-songwriter Charlie Puth, Sam Ryder and Olly Murs also took to the stage at The Londoner hotel in Leicester Square to perform in front of almost 400 special guests.
Global brought together all its radio brands and its outdoor estate, to raise much-needed funds for small charities providing crucial services, including food banks, mental health and domestic abuse helplines, carer support, homeless shelters, community projects and employment programmes.
Stephen Miron, Group CEO of Global, said: “To raise more than £1 million for Global’s Make Some Noise in one night is fantastic and I feel incredibly proud of what we have achieved. It means that we have raised almost £30 million and supported 441 projects across 331 charities since Global’s Make Some Noise was created in 2014.
“A massive thank you to our superstar music artists Tom Grennan, Charlie Puth, Sam Ryder and Olly Murs, our good friends from the world of music and entertainment, and the entire Global family for their support and generosity. We know that thousands of people across the UK are facing extremely tough circumstances, so through the projects and small charities that we support and champion, we can and will make a lasting difference to their lives.”
