The finalists have been announced for the Gillards – the BBC’s very own awards ceremony for local radio stations.
25 of the 40 local stations have received a nomination, with BBC Radio Sheffield, Coventry and Warwickshire, Hereford and Worcester and BBC Radio Shropshire all receiving three each.
Six stations – Bristol, Lincolnshire, Jersey, WM (last year’s Station of the Year), Lancashire and Berkshire have received two nominations, whilst the rest have one each.
There’s a new category this year too, for Digital (Innovation). The awards evening takes place on November 4th in Birmingham.
