Voiceworks has produced two radio programmes for the BBC to mark sixty years of Doctor Who.
The shows look back at the history of the programme with guests including Katy Manning and Steven Moffat.
‘Doctor Who: The Welsh Connection’, aired on BBC Radio Wales today, Thursday 23rd November, with presenter Katherine Jenkins OBE exploring the role that Wales has played in the legacy of Doctor Who.
And ‘Doctor Who: 60 Years of Friends and Foes’, airs on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 24th November. Presented by Sue Perkins, it explores how Doctor Who has reflected our social history both on and off screen. The show provides everything from archival footage to interviews with former companions, writers, and the voice of the Daleks, Nicholas Briggs.
Both shows are produced by Voiceworks Producer Jamie Griffiths. The programmes form part of the organisation’s strategy to work with major brands and help them unlock the power of audio, through the production of high-quality audio content.
Kyle Evans, Director of Content at Voiceworks and Executive Producer on the programmes said: “We have enjoyed crafting these sixty-year anniversary programmes for the BBC Doctor Who and thank you to Katherine Jenkins OBE and Sue Perkins for presenting them.
“For us to work on something that is helping to celebrate the legacy has been very special. Here’s to the next sixty years!”
