Weekends onare to benefit from new and extended sponsorship deals.
In time for the football season, Sky extend their sponsorship of Rock N Roll Football whilst Blue Square Bet becomes the station’s first betting partner, sponsoring Saturday mornings for nine months.
Sky has signed an exclusive deal to extend and increase their sponsorship of’s Barclays Premier League football commentary for the 2012/13 season. The deal follows ’s announcement that it was extending its Rock N Roll Football brand across the week with a new football show on Sunday afternoons (2-6pm) hosted by Mark Crossley.
As part of its Rock N Roll Football brand, Absolute Radio has the rights to broadcast live commentary from 32 Barclays Premier League matches at 3:00pm every Saturday, beginning from Saturday August 18th.
“We’re pleased to be continuing our association with Absolute Radio by extending our sponsorship of Rock N Roll Football, following two successful years which have provided us with fantastic opportunities for the Sky brand to feature across Absolute Radio’s schedule” said Bob Suppiah, Director of Promotions and Partnerships at BSkyB.
And in a deal conceived by Carat Sponsorship, online betting and sports betting service Blue Square Bet have signed six figure sponsorship deal for their Saturday mid-morning show with Mark Crossley.
From 10.30am-1.30pm every Saturday, Mark Crossley will drive an in-show feature to promote Blue Square Bet live odds. The betting brands Alan Alger will call into Mark’s show each week to discuss the days betting and live odds from the biggest games including Absolute Radio’s featured Barclays Premier League commentary fixture with Jim Proudfoot at 3pm.

The Blue Square Bet deal was negotiated by Julia Fitzgerald at Carat Sponsorship and Carly Lucas at Absolute Radio and will begin on Saturday 18th August 2012.
