WM kicks off its month-long Summer Tour

The month of June sees BBC WM broadcast live from various locations around the West Midlands for its ‘Summer Tour’ event.

bbcwmtourPresenters including Pete Morgan, Adrian Goldberg, Caroline Martin, Danny Kelly and Paul Franks say they are looking forward to meeting their listeners, and are asking people to join them.

Pete Morgan’s Breakfast Show started the tour this morning from Queen’s Square, Wolverhampton and one of the two surviving BBC local radio buses is also taking part.

It’s stopping off to allow listeners to jump on board and enjoy an interactive radio experience, including the chance to have a go at presenting a news bulletin that is broadcast live to the audience outside the bus.

BBC WM 95.6 Editor, Gareth Roberts, says: “We’re really excited about this as it’s the most ambitious project the radio station has ever attempted. The whole team, including presenters and producers, is out on the road throughout June not only broadcasting live and meeting listeners but also getting stuck in and helping put something back into communities across Birmingham and The Black Country.”
