A new national radio station has launched this morning as The Chris Moyles Show makes a commercial radio comeback.
After six months of guess work and a two week countdown, the lad line-up of Chris Moyles, Vernon Kay, Dan O’Connell and Johnny Vaughan has finally started.
Moyles was bang on time, at 06.30 with a typical opening theme, reminisce of his eight and a half year stint on BBC Radio 1. The opening audio and the rest of the imaging for the show has been made by Sandy Beech, who created all the audio for The Chris Moyles Show at the BBC via his company, Music4.
There’s a familiar sound to the show already, with Dominic Byrne reading the news and Paul Turner as voiceover. “Well hello again Great Britain” was his first words. I’ve been waiting three years for this”
“That’s right, the money finally ran out”
Lots of industry colleagues have been wishing Global and Chris good luck with the launch over the weekend, and the countdown to the launch expired.

A mention for Stephanie Hirst’s cat Dave!
Noel Gallagher takes the piss out of Global’s newsroom, saying it should be read out by a proper newsreader, not just Dom who is a dude

We’ve noticed the talkSPORT voiceover guy is voicing an advert played a few times already on the Chris Moyles Show. Co-incidence but funny!
We are loving all the mentions for Ben Cooper and Radio 1. Moyles is breaking all the radio school rules and inventing a whole new rule book.
Listening to Moyles and Dom this morning makes us think we’re listening to a recording of his old Radio 1 show. It’s like the best mate you’ve not seen for years then just continue where you left off!
Debate on being late for the news.. .three minutes to nine. Do we play the song or the ads? How about just talk!
These ads are really getting in the way of my creativity!
We might have to get the DAB radio out from under the door (the one it is wedging open) and stick the aerial out of the window to listen to Radio X
The stream is still breaking up. CHRIS MOYLES BROKE THE INTERNET
BEN COOPER. WE CAN DO WHATEVER WE WANT. Aled isn’t here. Rachel isn’t here.
@ashleytabor Hi Ash. Thanks for bringing personality radio back! Great rule-breaking fun. Loving it.

Just putting it out there, but I have a feeling he's going to try and crash some the other breakfast show studios this morningHear more radio industry news like this at the top of the hour on inRadio - the radio industry's very own radio station. And the stream has died! We’ll be back very soon!
BBC Radio 1 breakfast has a busy show this morning! Pushing the boat out with Disclosure and Carly Rae Jepson on the guest list, plus tickets to see Florence Welsh in the Live Lounge!
I hate myself for being so predictable, but as soon as soon as I woke up, I tuned into Radio X to see what it's all about.

First proper song.. The Rolling Stones. It’s 7.14!
Weather. More Weather. Sport. Even More Sport. Make an animal noise.
Love the idents, Chris
Moyles already arguing about items in the news. “We’re already telling people in the news about the launch of Radio X” It’ll only be news if LBC was talking about it!
7.05 time for the news
There aren’t many events in the radio industry in recent history which have brought people together in this way. Especially at 6.30 in the morning
Adverts are on. Everyone grab a shower, quick
MIND THE GAP
The first 30 minutes of Radio X has been the geek fest we all expected it to be
The two fingers Chris is sticking up at XFM listeners couldn’t be any bigger at this point!
First song…. Love Machine?!
Can I just say GUARDIAN this show is surrounded by women. Can I just clarify this station is not just about men. It’s about everybody!
Already mentions for Heart, Emma Bunton, Jamie Theakston, Dave Berry and the rest of the Global building!
Dave Masterman already has a nickname. Why would Chris not want to keep mentioning a ‘Dave’ on his show?
I’m a changed man. I’ve found the Lord. The Lord is a pub in Reading and I’ve spent the last three years there!
Chris talks up to the vocals of the opening jingle… for 18 minutes!

Chris talking about twitter and how he’s taken the DJ off his twitter username
Wheeeeeerrre are the Moyles morons at?
— Giselle (@ItsGiselleJay) September 21, 2015
15 minutes in and all speech so far!
Chris proving how cool he is by telling us which gigs he’s been to in the last year: The Who Jonny Marr, Taylor Swift, Culture Club, James Bay and Matt and Kim!

Chris talking about doing an interview for NME the other day. Even though HE’S NOT DOING ANY INTERVIEWS.

Radio X is not a Yorkie version of a radio station. We love you girls.
— Noel Gallagher (@NoelGallagher) September 20, 2015
Let me be the first of many Radio X DJs to say this show is not male focussed and the comments in the press are a load of balls
The new sound of The Chris Moyles Show is done and delivered. Hear it tomorrow from 6.30am http://t.co/moxVFWxJMf
— Sandy Beech (@sandybeech) September 20, 2015
Chris thanks everyone for listening in. What do we play again? Dave Masterman says ‘Fresh Rock’ and Pip says ‘Guitar Based Rock’
— Iain Dale (@IainDale) September 20, 2015
“I’ve not done this for three years. Literally it was a year off that got extended”

Nice mention for Jon Holmes – ‘he’s on at the weekend’ Chris says
This show is run by a woman.. which may seem strange if you’ve been reading about Radio X but we’ll discuss that later!
There are lots of ways to listen to Radio X and the new station website has a thorough section on how to tune in:
