LGB&T radio station Gaydio is adding three new UK cities to its list of terrestrial broadcast areas this month.
The station, which is already on DAB across London and the Sussex Coast and FM in Manchester, will be adding Cambridge, Birmingham and Glasgow to its transmission plan.
Gaydio is joining a number of small-scale DAB licence trials to boost its coverage areas, including the one launched this week in Manchester.
Toby Whitehouse, Station Director told RadioToday: “Gaydio is already available online throughout the UK and with almost half of the population now owning a DAB Radio, we want to make the station more easily available across the country. Our existing DAB services for London & Sussex along with our FM licence in Manchester means that around 20 million people will be able to listen to the station on their DAB or FM radios.”
The schedule sees Chris Holliday & Emma Goswell on Breakfast and Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson, who plays Ste in the soap, on Sundays. It started life in 2006 to cover Manchester’s Pride Festival and operated a number of RSLs before getting a community radio licence.
