Lisa Snowdon to leave Capital Breakfast

Lisa Snowdon is leaving Capital Breakfast after seven and a half years saying that she’s earned a lie in.

She’s been on the London breakfast show with Dave Berry for four years, and he says he’ll miss her as his co-host and friend. Lisa is now getting ready to leave at Christmas and prepare for the “next big adventure”.

Richard Park, group executive director & director of broadcasting at Global tells us Lisa is staying within the Global family.

Lisa Snowdon told RadioToday: “I’m very sad to be saying goodbye to our amazing listeners as I’ve had so much fun over the last seven and a half years and I’ll genuinely miss them all. I’ll also miss the wonderful team at Capital including Rich Steele who has worked with me since the beginning, producing the show and of course my gorgeous co-host Dave Berry. But after seven and a half years getting up at 04.30, I hope people agree that I’ve earned a lie in! I’ve had a fantastic time waking up London and I’ve been very lucky to have worked with some of the most talented people in the business. Now it’s time for my next big adventure.”

Lisa announced the news on breakfast today (Friday) and confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: “Hey guys, it’s true I’m leaving at the end of the year. It’s been an incredible 7 & half yrs.Thank you for all ur love & support, I’ll miss u”

Dave Berry added: “I’m absolutely gutted Lisa is leaving me at the end of the year but I know I’m in good hands with the team and our lovely listeners. Over the past four years Lisa has been my co-host, my nutritionist, my travel companion, my wing woman and above all my friend. I’m going to miss her in the mornings but I know our friendship lives on beyond the hours of 6am to 10am Monday to Friday.”

Lisa joined Global in August 2008 as co-host with Jonny Vaughan on the Capital Breakfast Show – a replacement for Denise van Outen.

Richard Park said: “Lisa is leaving the Capital breakfast show after seven and a half years’ waking up London, the past four with her co-host Dave Berry. The pair have won all the major broadcasting awards and Lisa leaves Capital on a high as Dave & Lisa continue their reign as London’s number one at breakfast, winning the battle for the commercial breakfast top slot in London with one million listeners.

“Lisa has been an absolutely brilliant presenter and a wonderful colleague and we all wish her every success in the future. Lisa will be on Capital until the end of the year and will remain part of the Global family.”
