Capital FM South Wales presenter Kam Kelly is getting married tomorrow – surrounded by fellow DJs and radio folk.
Kam, who hosts Capital FM South Wales’s breakfast show with Sally Bailey, marries long-term girlfriend Sarah Newman this weekend in Sheffield. His best man is Big John from Hallam FM and Capital Yorkshire host Simon Hirst is also on the guest list.
The couple from Penarth in South Wales met in Sheffield over a decade ago when Kam worked at Hallam FM.
At his side on the big day will be Choice FM breakfast news man Andre Morgan and Real Radio’s David Dixon. Producers from the Capital and Heart network including Tim John, Cormac MacMahon, Tim Lichfield and Rhiddian Jones will also rub shoulders with BBC producers including Colin Paterson from BBC Radio Wales.
They will be among the 150 guests as Kam marries Sarah at Dore Parish Church in Sheffield this Saturday before a reception at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire where they will be serving Welsh cakes in honour of their South Wales home.
Fiancée Sarah, 31, said: ‘I am unsure what to expect with so many radio people present. They are all very good at talking and cracking jokes so I’m sure they’ll be trying to outdo each other and playing tricks on each other.’
Sarah, who grew up in Sheffield, added: ‘There will be people from radio stations all over the country there because, by the nature of radio, people make friends and move around a lot from station to station. I think there’ll be quite a few of the breakfast shows represented!’
