The former Controller of BBC Radio 2 and 6 Music Lesley Douglas is joining television production firm Lime Pictures as Chief Executive.
Lime, part of the ALL3MEDIA group, makes shows including Hollyoaks, The Only Way Is Essex and Grange Hill.
Lesley was in charge at Radio 2 between 2004 and 2008 and latterly the BBC’s first Controller of Popular Music. She resigned from the corporation following ‘Sachsgate’ controversy that involved presenters Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross leaving rude voicemail messages for actor Andrew Sachs during Brand’s Saturday night Radio 2 show.
At Lime Pictures, we’re told she’ll work on projects to develop new outlets and commercial deals for the company’s programmes both in the UK and internationally.
Douglas will take up the position in the New Year, and joins from Universal Music where she’s been since she left Radio 2.
