Charlotte Green is to present a new magazine-style arts show on Global Radio’s Classic FM, launching on Sunday 22nd September from 3pm till 5pm.
The 5 live football results announcer will be joined each week by a special guest from the world of music, theatre, television or film in Charlotte Green’s Culture Club.
In the first programme, the actor, writer and television presenter Stephen Fry will join Charlotte to discuss his passion for the music of Wagner and why he’s curating a brand new arts festival – Deloitte Ignite – at the Royal Opera House this month.
Charlotte’s new show comes after her debut Great Composers series on Classic FM, in which the station says she celebrated a 49% increase in audience numbers year-on-year in that time slot.
Charlotte Green said: “I was thrilled to join Classic FM earlier this year, and I’m delighted to be launching this exciting new programme. I very much share Classic FM’s aim of making classical music accessible to as wide an audience as possible – and I hope my new Culture Club will become an essential listen for anyone who, like me, is passionate about the arts.”
Classic FM’s Managing Editor Sam Jackson said: “Since joining the Classic FM family in the spring, Charlotte has made a fantastic contribution to the station. We’re delighted that she’s agreed to front this major new programme, which promises to be one of the jewels in the crown of Classic FM’s weekend schedule – and a must-listen for anyone interested in what’s happening in the arts world.”
