The Community Media Association is Celebrating The Power of Inclusion at its upcoming Community Media Festival.
The event, on Saturday 7th May 2022, is happening at the University of Bedfordshire’s Luton campus.
Bill Best, Operations Manager, Community Media Association, says: “We’ve amended the format of The Community Media Festival this year to have shorter sessions and to have a more celebratory feel since this is well-deserved as we emerge from the pandemic.
“We are also launching the Community Media Champions event in the evening to recognise the contributions made to the UK community media sector by some outstanding and very special individuals.”
The final programme for the day is still taking shape but confirmed sessions so far include:
- Dr Rosena Allin-Khan, Shadow Cabinet Minister for Mental Health
- Matt Fisher, Lead Station Sound Producer for BBC Radio 1, Radio 1 Dance, 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6 Music & Asian Network
- Darryl Morris, talkRADIO
- Young presenters from Sound Vision radio training
In the evening, the celebrations will continue with a new Community Media Champions event to be held at the same venue. They’ll recognise individuals who have made a special and significant contribution to community media in the UK.
The ticket price includes admission to the Community Media Festival, the Community Media Champions evening event, lunch, evening meal, and refreshments.
Early-bird tickets are on sale now until 7th April with a full programme coming soon. See more here.
