Central FM has announced it will be applying for the small-scale DAB multiplex licence covering Stirling & Falkirk.
The commercial radio station has been on-air in the area for over 30 years and says it has all the infrastructure in place to launch the service from its existing site at Earls Hill if it is successful.
The bid currently has support from four local stations currently broadcasting online including hospital and community stations.
The station said: “The small-scale DAB multiplex will also allow Central FM to consider bringing brand extensions, such as Central FM Gold and others, to increase the choice of listening across Stirling & Falkirk.”
