Gold presenter opens studios
Hospital Radio Barnet’s new studio complex has been officially opened by Gold radio presenter Dean Martin. Dean started his radio career at the station, and is now an honorary member. He performed the opening ceremony live on air with presenter Richard Edwards.
John Myers appointed Chairman
GMG Radio founder and former chief executive John Myers has taken on a new role – as chairman of Radio Tyneside. The hospital radio station, which serves patients in Newcastle and Gateshead, welcomed John to the team after he took early retirement last year.
Radio Enfield bags £6k grant
Radio Enfield in Middlesex has been awarded a lottery grant for six thousand pounds. The money will go towards upgrading studio equipment and run more automated programmes in addtion to its live programmes.

The results are out for this year's National Hospital Radio Awards – with Hospital Radio Chelmsford winning Station of the Year. Free audio for Hospital Radio
Audio imaging company Devaweb has produced a special set of sweepers and promos for Hospital Broadcasting Week, the annual week-long celebration of hospital radio broadcasting across the UK. The audio is available free of charge to all hospital stations taking part.
Nominations announced for HBA
The nominations for the Hospital Radio Awards have been announced ahead of the ceremony in Glasgow on March 27th. There are 10 categories with 45 stations in the shortlist, with Radio Northwick Park and Victoria Radio Network both getting the most nominations.
