BBC Radio Solent's commentary of the upcoming FA Vase semi-finals featuring Poole Town is to be simulcast on community station The Bay 102.8.
It follows a [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.6777]deal announced last month[/link] by the BBC station to allow their live coverage of Portsmouth FC matches to be broadcast by Express FM.
As Express do each week, The Bay will provide their own output for the build-up, during half-time and post-match analysis, so just the live commentary of the games will air on both stations.
The semi-final first and second legs, which take place this Saturday and next, are perhaps the two biggest games in Poole Town's recent history – with a place in the Wembley final at stake.
The club's Commercial Director Mark Bumford said: "We’ve had great support from Bay 102.8 for the last two seasons and it’s absolutely fantastic that they are providing live commentary on these important games with the co-operation of BBC Radio Solent."
Alan Coote, Managing Director of The Bay 102.8, told RadioToday.co.uk he was very excited about the tie-up. "It's almost unheard of for an independent station to work with the BBC and use their fantastic resources," he said. "Our audience will hear the BBC’s excellent live commentary on the games while our team will provide pre-match, half-time and post-match analysis. We are really pleased to be working with the BBC."
