Wave 105 MD climbs Kilimanjaro for Kids

A group Wave 105 listeners, along with Managing Director Martin Ball, have raised £50,000 by taking part in a charity climb to the top of Kilimanjaro.

The challenge was set by a local motor group and saw Rhys Jones take part too.

The ten-day expedition saw the group hike to the summit of the world’s highest free-standing mountain, raising an impressive amount for the station’s charity Cash for Kids.

Stephen Snow of Snows Motor Group says; “We are really pleased to have been able to get so involved with the Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity, and taking part in the Kilimanjaro expedition and raising so much money for underprivileged young people in the South.”

Gloria Hill, Charity Manager said; “The amount raised, £50,000 is fantastic, we never thought that one event could raise so much for Wave 105 Cash for Kids. The hard work achieved during the Kilimanjaro climb is really commendable.”

It’s not the first time Martin has climbed the mountain – he did it for the station charity in 2009 also.
