Sarah Ward joins JAZZFM for Dinner

The velvety tones of Sarah Ward will become a familiar sound during the week on JAZZFM from next month as she takes over as host of the station?s flagship jazz programme Dinner Jazz.

Sarah has had a successful career in radio, hosting the breakfast show for BBC Radio 5 as well as daily and weekly music programmes on Classic FM and BBC Radio 4. She has been with JAZZFM for six years and is one of the stations highly respected experts on jazz music.

JAZZFM Programme Director Mark Walker said: ?Her passion for jazz music shines through and Sarah has the perfect voice to help people wind down after a stressful day. Dinner Jazz has become as much a part of the evening meal as a bottle of wine and we know Sarah will continue to provide listeners with the same enchanting and enlightening mix of jazz music which Helen has consistently delivered over the years. We wish her every success in her new role.?

Sarah Ward said: ?Dinner Jazz is such a wonderful programme and a fantastic opportunity to play some of the most beautiful music in the world. It appeals to both the experienced jazz listener and is also credited with introducing a whole new audience to jazz music so I am thrilled to be hosting the show five nights a week.?

The station is looking at various options for the 9pm-midnight slot on Saturday but Sarah Ward will continue to present her weekend show in addition to Dinner Jazz for the immediate future.
